Hectic Month

Sorry for not posting in a while. I don't even know if anyone reads this blog, in any case, I haven't written because this has been one hectic month for me. This week I started my graduate program in technical writing. It's a great feeling being back in school and my professors are great. I'm still working full-time and taking classes at night. Some people have asked me why I didn't go down the MFA route even though I was accepted to the MFA program at Long Island University. I have many reasons why I've decided against the MFA but I think the main reason was because I wanted a degree that would eventually pay for itself after I graduate. I know an M.S. in Technical Communication sounds kind of weird, especially because I am a poet but I am finding the program extremely interesting. I'm also going to learn how to create websites and I think the skills I'll get from the program will definitely come in handy when it comes to my literary endeavors and finding a job. I eventually want to launch a website, an online literary journal and maybe start my own consultanting business. I'm taking some cool courses like Rhetoric Theory & Criticism and Communications & Technology. I haven't been writing much but I hope to do some writing this weekend.
