This past Saturday I was asked to be part of a fundraiser for a great poet named Maria Palacios, the author of The Female King. I spent a Saturday night among poets coming together for a common cause. Our Maria uses a motorized wheelchair that needs repairs which costs a shit-load.
It was great to see so many poets, writers, and musicians come together for a great cause. Most importantly a cause for a friend, a poet, essentially an artist; I’m honored to be part of this event. Initially, I wasn’t going to attend due to my vision i.e. my cornea transplant, but luckily a friend of mine drove me to the event and allowed me to attend her shin-dig, which was dope.
